Living Bible
Most of us that think of the “Living Bible” refer in our minds to the paraphrase translation that Kenneth Taylor published in 1971. It often comes in a green “puffy” hardcover typically though it takes many shapes and forms after all these years. What has been fun for me though, has been a different take on the “Living Bible”. Mine is a collection of what I’ve been able to observe God doing, mostly since 2013.
The earliest prayer request I have recorded in my “Living Bible” journal is dated about 2006, the year Amber and Chloe started babysitting our friends’ children, Elias & Jane. This book means a lot as it sort of chronicles the good, bad, & in-between times our family has had with the Lord. I’ve included pictures, cards, and different things that others have written for the simple fact that I like to see what Jesus has done in our lives.
Some of us are more visual than others and for those times where a cerebral vacation seems to take us away from where God has brought us, I like to break it out and marvel at how huge our God is. I know that there will always be skeptics abounding in this life as it is every person’s right to believe what they want to believe. What I love about this Living bible though is simply this; that there really is no debate or argument or scientific discovery that dispels years of walking with God.
That’s our Living Bible and every entry shows me time and time again how truly great our God is.
" For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities--his eternal power and divine nature--have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse." Romans 1; 20
